Snap out of it!

Have you ever felt like the people you love are being brainwashed? That the people around you, whether you know them or not, have fallen victim to a new age way of not thinking for themselves? This has become my reality and for many of you thinkers out there, I think you'll agree. When did we become a society of taking some body's word for it? When did the act of rationality become a thing of the past? More and more I notice people with nothing, or close to it, are agreeing with the very people that make our meager way of life an everyday struggle. Maybe it's always been this way and now that I'm smart enough to recognize it, it's a lot more noticeable. I've been wrong before, but it seems as though thinking for ourselves has become to much work. I only have enough energy to be angry or disagree without knowing the facts. Beyond that you have to think for me! If shit's not going the way I want it to there must be someone to blame, besides me. I mean after all I've never made a bad decision in my life. Sound familiar? Maybe it's a Congressman's fault that an illegal has a job and I don't. There's no other reasonable explanation. Would a corporation who's main interest is bottom line hire an illegal to increase that very same bottom line? No, never! Would an entire news organization lie to me in order to gain my favor to further back it's political presence in the country? Couldn't be! Especially if that news organization is funded by politicians. If you haven't picked up on the sarcasm by now, kill yourself! There's no hope for the likes of you! What ever happened to arriving to a conclusion based on facts? Oh, that's right. That type of thinking is only for scientist, and since they haven't found proof of a god they can't know what they're talking about. If you're going to make a point, or encourage me to vote, have you're shit together! Don't think that hearsay and Tea Party rhetoric is going to be enough to shift my view one way or another. You've been brainwashed by the people at Fox news! Snap out of it. Our country society as a whole doesn't stand a chance if we don't come together. Granted we're not always going to agree and that's a part of what makes us human. But if we don't learn to come to a reasonable compromise, what's the point in offering a point of view at all? Is it really that strange that we should look out for each other? Is there something wrong with helping those in need? Why is it the silver spoons & safety net trust fund kids are the one who argue for survival of the fittest? Where would you be in life if you didn't have Mommy or Daddy to fall back on in times of need? You'd be right here with the rest of us, dealing with reality on a day to day basis. And in this reality we don't only look out for our best interests, we keep a sliver of reason in everything we do. If you can't think for yourself, & you're gullible to every conspiracy theory out there, you're really not worth the debate. Without reason, there's no reason for me to talk to you.

  1. whoa buddy, what are you talking about? forming our own opinions? backing up what we say with "facts" and "logic"? free will?

sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me. maybe i'll consider it when the mainstream media tells me to.
